Jump Start (formerly known as Kids Fun Factory Club) (TOP)
This is an exercise program designed to teach the children proper ways to exercise and that exercise is fun. They will warm-up, work into a cardiovascular segment and end with flexibility exercises.

Fall Session :

  • Ages 5 - 8
  • Tuesdays  in Gym A  6:45 - 7:30 p.m. 

Y Fit Squad Fitness Program (Formerly known as Y.A.I.T. Club ) (TOP)
Learn about strength training, cardiovascular conditioning, stretching techniques and nutrition in a fun, noncompetitive group class. This is an exercise program designed to teach proper ways to exercise and that exercise is fun.

Thursdays

4:30-5:30pm in the Fitness Studio

Ages 5+

Active Youth Program (TOP)
This program is designed for youth who need guidance in becoming physically active, appropriate nutritional information and a safe place to be after school. This program is a 12 week commitment to become active 3 days a week at the YMCA. Teens will be provided a Total Health Coach (YMCA trained health & fitness staff) to guide and motivate them on the 12 week journey to a more physically active, healthy lifestyle. The coach will design the program specifically for the needs and abilities of the individual and physical activity will be introduced in small, achievable steps. The coach will provide lots of personal attention and extra motivation.

Y Run Jr. (TOP)
Saturdays 9:30-10:30 a.m.

A YMCA certified instructor will train new and/or beginning runners to prepare for a 5K race. This will include a run/walk program with gradually increasing running intervals and decreasing walking intervals until participants are running 30-40 minutes nonstop. Weekly running topics will be discussed. 5K and 10K options to be offered.  Modifications made for age appropriateness.

Youth Specialty Programs (TOP)

Tutoring (TOP)
Elementary, Middle School, High School

Does your child need some extra help? Pair up with an Experienced Tutor with a Masters in Teaching who can assist your child with his or her schoolwork or get help preparing for the SAT or ACT tests.   One-on-one, our tutor can work around you and your child's busy schedule and give them needed assistance. Sessions are one hour in length and you can purchase multiple sessions.

Electric Eels Youth Pre-Competitive Swim Club (TOP)
4:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Open to boys and girls in the YMCA swim levels of Flying Fish and Shark. The main focus is to increase strength, flexibility, and aerobic capacity as well as to instill respect, responsibility, caring, honesty and teamwork.

Tween Sports of all Sorts (TOP)                NEW           NEW             NEW
For youth ages 8-12   Come join other YMCA tweens in playing sports you love: soccer, kickball, dodge ball, floor hockey, football.  FREE Non registration necessary. Mondays - Fridays 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.

Jr. Leaders Club (TOP)
For youth ages 8-11. Build confidence and leadership skills, learn team building and social skills. Play an important part in your community and have fun doing it. Activities include: community fundraising, creating and printing a monthly newsletter, "Tween" events, and volunteer opportunities. Meets the first and third Wednesdays of the month 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.  Anyone interested should contact Tess Kenney at            451-2562.    Free to members.    We are off for the summer and will start up again on September 19.

Tween Night (TOP)
Music, POOL activities, sports, food and FUN! Sponsored by the Jr. Leaders Club!

The Chill Zone   (TOP) Ages 8-14, Mondays & Wednesdays 6:30 - 8:00pm.  A great place to hang out with friends….play cards, board games, computer games; be creative with art and crafts supplies; listen to music, do your homework or just chat!  FREE

Staying Home Alone Course (TOP)
An instructional course on the basics of staying home alone. Topics discussed and experienced through role playing will include parent expectations, safety do's and don'ts of being responsible.

Dance Programs (TOP)

Dance (TOP)
The YMCA Dance Program is open to both children and adults. Classes meet once a week for 30 minute. We offer the following:

Classical Ballet: The most disciplined foundation for all dance forms concentrating on technical and linear development, proper alignment, turn-put, placement and coordination. A reinforced ballet vocabulary is also emphasized to all students involved in classical ballet training. Pink ballet shoes required. Ages 4-6 & 7-9.

Jazz Dance: A dynamic form of dance focusing on rhythm, expression and style. Forms and various styles of American dance are taught concentrating on coordination, isolated rhythmic movements and specific jazz technique. No shoes required. Ages 6-8.

Acro: A combination of tumbling and jazz dance to music creating a unique variation of dance. Pink ballet shoes required. Ages 6-8. Tap: A form of dance to music that uses different tap tones and dance steps to create a rhythmic sound. Black tap shoes required. Ages 6-8.

Irish: A basic Irish folk dance concentrating on technical coordination. Black ballet shoes required. Ages 8 & up.

Creative Movement: A combination of tumbling and dance for boys and girls. Different dance steps may be used as well as cheerleading moves. Pink ballet shoes required. Ages 3-5.

Hip Hop:A form of fast-paced dance combining strength, energy, rhythm and coordination with multiple funky upbeat steps and jumps. Ages 10+
