---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Non-Member Adult Competitive Basketball League (TOP) Summer 2008 Session Runs: June 1 - Sept. 14 Fall Session Runs: September 21 - January 13 Fall Registration: August 3 - Sept. 14 This league is open to both members and non-members. Weekly games are played on Sundays under the auspices of qualified referees and scorekeepers. The season consists of 12 regular season games and playoffs. A-division (21+) and B-division (25+) are available. Register as a team only. Fees $385 per team plus $50 refundable forfeit fee. * Referee fee of $30 per game per team. * $190 deposit required at registration to hold spot. This league mixes players of all levels in spirited weekly 5 on 5 full court basketball games. The season consists of 9 regular season games and playoffs. Meet fellow YMCA members and enjoy this great game at the same time! All teams are formed by the captains drafting teams. Fall: TBA This clinic is instructed by Jim Winterton and is designed to help improve your game and give you a step up on the competition. I will address the following, but not limited to these areas: forehand, backhand, foot work, drive serve, lob serve, specialty serves, ceiling balls, front court game, conditioning, shot selection and defensive racquetball positioning on the court.

Each week's game will consist of 5 on 5 played on full court with two 20 minute halves, 5 minute half time, 15 minute team concept drills and practices taught by qualified coaches and refereed by certified referees. Records will be kept and the season will culminate in a Tournament! Each team will have a practice scheduled on Nov. 3 and Nov. 10 for approx. 1 hour and a game scheduled by the YMCA for the remaining Saturdays. Parents will be notified by the coaches regarding the practice time. All practices and games are played on Saturday. Team size is limited so register early. Flag Football 2008 (TOP) Season Runs: September 1 - October 27, 2008 Registration: July 7 - Aug. 18 5& 6 year olds (Runners) 7 & 9 year olds (Punters) 10-12 year olds (Passers) YMCA football is a great way to have fun while learning football skills. There is no hard physical contact as players are "down" when the flag is pulled off their uniform. Parents will be notified by the coaches regarding the time of practices. This non competitive program emphasizes the fundamentals of baseball as well as fair play, sportsmanship and FUN. the season will last 9 weeks. The YMCA will have four age divisions: 3 yr. olds - Thursdays 4-5 yr. olds - Mondays 4-5 yr. olds - Wednesdays 6-9 yr. olds - Tuesdays 10-12 yr. olds - Thursdays Each team will have one (1) practice the week of April 28 and one (1) practice the week of May 5 for approximately one (1) hour. Game scheduled by the YMCA will begin the week of May 12. Parents will be notified by their coach regarding what time practices will be held. Games will last one (1) hour and will be held Monday through Thursday, starting around 5:15 pm and ending no later than 6:15 pm. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Youth Floor Hockey (TOP ) Saturdays The North Area Family YMCA's Youth Indoor Floor Hockey program is open to boys and girls ages 3 - 12 years old. The YMCA will have five age divisions: Each team will have a practice scheduled on the first two Saturdays for approximately one hour and a game scheduled by the YMCA the remaining Saturdays. Parents will be notified by their coach regarding what time practices will be held. Fall Session: Sept. 6 - Oct. 25 Fall Registration: July 7 - August 25 Fees: Member $27 (includes jersey and award) Youth Member $70 (includes jersey and award) Non-Members $90 (includes jersey and award) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Youth Dance (TOP ) Fall 2008: TBA The YMCA youth dance program begins September 27 and runs for 21 weeks. Classes meet once a week for 30 minutes culminating with a dance recital on March 2008. Classes will have a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10 participants. Classical Ballet- The most disciplined foundation for all dance forms concentrating on technical and linear development, proper alignment, turn-put, placement and coordination. A reinforced ballet vocabulary is also emphasized to all students involved in classical ballet training. Pink ballet shoes required. Ages 4-6 & 7-9 Jazz Dance- A dynamic form of dance focusing on rhythm, expression and style. Forms and various styles of American dance are taught concentrating on coordination, isolated rhythmic movements and specific jazz technique. No shoes required. Ages 6-8 Acro- A combination of tumbling and jazz dance to music creating a unique variation of dance. Pink ballet shoes required. Ages 6-8 Tap- A form of dance to music that uses different tap tones and dance steps to create a rhythmic sound. Black tap shoes required. Ages 6-8 Irish- A basic Irish folk dance concentrating on technical coordination. Black ballet shoes required. Ages 8+ Creative Movement- A combination of tumbling and dance for boys and girls. Different dance steps may be used as well as cheerleading moves. Pink ballet shoes required. Ages 3-5. Hip Hop Dance- A form of fast-paced dance combining strength, energy, rhythm and coordination with multiple funky upbeat steps and jumps.
