Partner With Youth Annual Campaign (TOP)

Every year, the YMCA of Greater Syracuse holds a special fundraising program to help children and families in need in our communtiy. The Partner with Youth Campaign is the annual charitable giving campaign for the YMCA of Greater Syracuse. In 2005 the YMCA of Greater Syracuse distributed a record $714,000 in financial assistance that benefited well over 5000 people in our community.

At the YMCA of Greater Syracuse, we see the impact that a healthy environment can make. The secure feeling that a parent has knowing their child is enrolled in one of our child care programs...The budding self-confidence of a child who participates in one of our Youth Sports Programs...Or the positive values that are rooted into a teens development during their involvement with Teen Leaders Club.

Everyone deserves a YMCA: Unfortunately, many are financially unable to participate in YMCA programs. Through the Partner With Youth Campaign, we can overcome the financial barriers and make the YMCA accessible to our entire community. Through the resources harvested from this campaign, the YMCA can change lives for families and children in the months and years to come. We invite you to participate in making an incredible impact on youth and families in our community.

Gifts of Cash: The YMCA gladly accepts gifts of cash to support the mission of the YMCA.

Gifts of Securities: Stocks or bonds that have appreciated in value can be gifted to the East Area Family YMCA. In addition to receiving an income tax deduction, capital gains tax will be avoided on the appreciated value.

Gifts of Real Estate: May include homes, farms, vacation property, undeveloped land or commercial property. The YMCA will sell the property and allocate the proceeds towards the campaign of choice

Heritage Club

The Heritage Club is an organization of people who have shown their long-term interest and support of the YMCA by either a direct contribution to the YMCA’s Endowment Fund or by including the YMCA in their estate plans.

Other ways to support the YMCA are through gifts of life insurance, gifts of IRA or other Retirement Assets, Charitable bequests, Life Income Arrangements, and gifts of Closely-held securities. Why should I give money to Partner With Youth? (TOP)
As a charitable organization, the YMCA exists to help people grow in spirit, mind and body.  The YMCA breaks through boundaries that often separate communities.  The Partner With Youth Campaign makes it possible for all people to experience the YMCA and all of its life-changing programs.  The YMCA creates opportunities that result in new friendships, new possibilities for personal growth, and a strengthened community.

How do people qualify to receive financial assistance?(TOP)
Financial assistance applications are available at every YMCA facility.  Information collected on these forms helps to determine the amount of assistance given to individuals and families.  Members on financial assistance are given all of the same membership privileges as full-paying members.

Which YMCA programs offer financial assistance? (TOP)
Financial assistance is given for preschool, child care, before/after school care, summer camp, youth sports, active older adults, membership, and other YMCA programs.  The programs at the Y reach the entire community.  From youth to seniors and all those in between, the YMCA’s programs build strong kids, strong families and strong communities.

Who furnishes the funds? (TOP)
Many generous individuals, corporations and foundations in our communities contribute to the Partner With Youth Campaign and furnish the funds for the financial assistance programs.
